Florida man uses own mugshot in Facebook profile, assists authorities in his arrest

It's almost like Mack Yearwood wanted to be caught. As the Huffington Post reported, the 42-year-old Florida fugitive made an amateur mistake when he used his own mugshot as his Facebook profile picture. That made him all too easy to find and arrest Tuesday, after Yearwood once again got himself in hot water.

Police in Stuart, Florida, picked up Yearwood's trail Monday night while investigating a domestic battery allegation. According to ABC, the victim identified Yearwood and gave authorities his address. When they looked up Yearwood, they found his Facebook profile — and the Citrus County sheriff department's wanted poster on display there.

"Facebook is a great way to communicate and connect with old friends and family," the Stuart police department posted to its own Facebook account on Aug. 31. "If you are wanted by the police, it's probably not a good idea to use the 'Wanted of the Week' poster of yourself as your profile pic." Wise words.

The Citrus County sheriff had been seeking Yearwood on two counts of battery, both probation violations, according to the Huffington Post. He'd dodged the long arm of the law for nearly a year before Stuart police arrested him Tuesday.

Another embarrassing detail the SPD shared in their Facebook post suggests Yearwood was pants-less when authorities picked him up. Before officers took him in, he allegedly asked to put on a pair of jeans, from the pocket of which tumbled a bag of weed. ABC reported that Yearwood asked police not to charge him for possession, but alas, they did

They have not yet charged him on the most recent battery case, however — police are still investigating that one. According to Huffington Post, Yearwood is sitting in Martin County Jail, where he'll have plenty of time to think about where he went wrong.
