Cenk Uygur of 'The Young Turks' just nailed why millennials get so much sh*t

Ever wondered why it seems like older generations come down so hard on millennials just for having opinions that are, well, different from their own? Cenk Uygur, host of the online news show The Young Turks, explained his theory about the generation gap during the first episode of TYT's new series on Fusion.

Speaking to an audience at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism on Monday, Uygur said his theory is simple: "Your parents screwed you."

When older generations act dismissive toward millennials and their millennial ways, Uygur posited, it's just because they're salty about their own limited access to information — at least compared to their kids.

Millennials are better equipped to make informed decisions because they have the world in their pockets — and never had to struggle through the Dewey Decimal System to look stuff up, he said.
