Is your iPhone 7 Plus hissing? Don’t get freaked out.

Impact

The iPhone 7 Plus may not explode like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, but Apple's new device is giving customers reason to be concerned.

Stephen Hackett from the site 512 Pixels claims to have an iPhone 7 Plus that makes loud hissing noises.

"As my iPhone 7 Plus was restoring from iCloud, I thought I noticed some sound," Hackett wrote in the description of a YouTube video. "After picking the device up from my desk, it was clear the sounds are coming from back of the phone, possibly from the CPU."

Hackett added that the hissing volume seems to increase when his iPhone 7 Plus is "under load."

The video demonstrating the worrisome noise is below. The 13-second audio clip does reveal a troubling hiss, but without accompanying visuals, it's difficult to confirm the source of the noise. Take a look for yourself:

Hackett is not the only one reporting "Hissgate" on his iPhone.

CNET reached out to Apple, saying the company "politely" declined to comment. It's unclear how severe this issue is, but so far reports have stopped at hissing. No explosions or physical damage of any sort have been mentioned.

Hackett says in a blog post that he spoke with AppleCare and they decided to replace his iPhone.
