Alleged 'Pokémon Go' mugging video captures player apparently being robbed mid-catch

Impact

One problem with Pokémon Go is that it encourages players to walk around with their expensive smartphones out in front of their faces. If you're holding your phone out and not paying attention to your surroundings, your phone is much more likely to be stolen.

That's exactly what seems to have happened to a gamer who goes by Rickeybot. Rickeybot was playing Pokémon Go and livestreaming his game on Twitch when a man apparently came up and punched him in the face. Since he was livestreaming, this alleged attack was caught on video.

Rickeybot started tweeting about the incident on Monday, saying he was mugged in Central Park while playing the game and was talking to the police. He tweeted that he was working on getting a clearer video of the attack to police.

Besides some minor injuries, Rickeybot seems to be all right.
