Donald Trump's national director just dropped out of his campaign

Impact

For Donald Trump, the hits keep coming.

On Thursday Jim Murphy, Trump's campaign's national political director, announced he would no longer be playing an active role in Trump's bid for the White House.

"I have not resigned but for personal reasons have had to take a step back from the campaign," Murphy said in a statement to Politico.

News of Murphy's departure comes less than 24 hours after the third and final presidential debate, where Trump was handily defeated — yet again — by democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
