Megyn Kelly brings up sexual assault allegations against Trump, Newt Gingrich explodes

Impact

Former speaker of the house turned Donald Trump surrogate Newt Gingrich was on Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly's show The Kelly File Tuesday evening to discuss the 2016 election and Trump's sinking numbers in the polls.

However, the segment took a yelling, finger-pointing turn when Kelly dared bring up Trump's predatory sexual comments and the sexual assault allegations against him.

"If Trump is a sexual predator..." was all Kelly had to say before Gingrich interrupted her, raising his voice and pointing his finger at the camera. "I'm sick and tired of people like you using language that's inflammatory, that's not true," Gingrich said, all while wagging his finger at Kelly, on her own show.

Gingrich then accuses Kelly — a journalist — of taking a position on the allegations against Trump for simply doing her job and raising the question.

"If Trump is a sexual predator, then it's a big story," Kelly says when she's finally able to get a word in. "As a media story, we don't get to say the 10 women are lying. We have to cover that story, sir."

Gingrich then brings up Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's leaked emails (which Kelly covered) and then launches into a personal attack against Kelly:

"You are fascinated with sex and you don't care about public policy," Gingrich says.

Kelly then laughs and hits Gingrich with reality. "You know what, Mr. Speaker, I'm not fascinated by sex. But I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we're getting in the Oval Office."

Gingrich then brings up the sexual assault allegations against Bill Clinton, and "dares" Kelly to call the former president a sexual predator.

Having enough of Gingrich's disrespect and shenanigans, Kelly dismisses him off her show. "We're going to have to leave it at that and you can take your anger issues and spend some time working on them, Mr. Speaker," Kelly says with a smile.
