Clinton Presidential Library shooting: One injured in robbery unrelated to election

Impact

Police in Little Rock, Arkansas, responded to reports of a shooting on Monday night in a parking lot at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park, where the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum and other facilities are located.

Police posted to Twitter saying they found one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg and that the motive appeared to be a robbery.

Thus there is currently no suspected connection to the ongoing presidential elections, in which Clinton's spouse and one-time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is challenging Republican nominee Donald Trump for the nation's highest office.

According to KARK 4 and Fox 16 News news director Austin Kellerman, the facility's staff said no events were scheduled for the night, and it occurred after operating hours had concluded.

Photos posted by KARK 4 and Fox 16 News reporter Mitchell McCoy showed state troopers responding to what Little Rock police acknowledged on the department Twitter feed as an "active crime scene" at 9:28 p.m.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
