Why isn't 'The Flash' on tonight? Season 3 premiere rerun airing instead of episode 6

Culture

The Flash can't speed past Election Day and neither can you. Although the CW is not airing election coverage on Tuesday night, the network has also decided not to air a new episode of the DC superhero show.

ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC will have election coverage running from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Eastern. All regularly scheduled shows on those networks have been pushed back a week.

While the CW does not have an Election Night special planned, they also must have figured that most eyes will be focused on the voting results. A rerun of The Flash season three premiere will be playing at 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday in place of episode six. Barry Allen supporters will have to tune in on Nov. 15 to find out what will happen next in Central City.

Hopefully the TV Guide synopsis for episode six, titled "Shade," can hold you off until next week:

When Wally starts having dreams about being Kid Flash, Barry realizes he has to tell Wally, Iris and Joe about what happened to Wally in Flashpoint in order to keep him safe.
