What time does the 2016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade start?

Culture

The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade turns 90 this year, and if watching parade floats across the streets of New York City screams Thanksgiving to you more than football or awkwardly eschewing discussions about politics with your family, you don't want to miss it.

So, with that said, when can you expect the parade to start?

The parade's TV showing kicks off at 9 a.m. Eastern on NBC, where the floats will make their way through the biggest hot spots in New York, including Columbus Circle and Herald Square.

You can check out other information about the parade on the Macy's website, but fair warning: The website plays annoyingly jovial music on repeat, and there's no clear way to stop it aside from muting your sound. It sounds a lot like Christmas music, which is odd because the parade is celebrating Thanksgiving. But it asks a bigger question: Does good Thanksgiving-themed music even exist

No, it doesn't.
