The Electoral College votes on Monday, and will likely make Donald Trump's victory official.

Trump won 306 electoral votes to Hillary Clinton's 232 in November. But since then, some have called on the 538 electors to deny Trump the presidency. If 37 of Trump's electors do not vote for him, he will no longer have the 270 needed to win the presidency, and the Republican-controlled House of Representatives will choose the nation's 45th president. 

A state's population determines its number of electoral votes: Its number of electors is equal to its number of senators and representatives.
