Nickelback jokes are old, according to Avril Lavigne

When Mark Zuckerberg released a teaser for Facebook's new Jarvis technology, he used it as a chance not only to show off his new A.I. creation (and adorable baby daughter), but also to take a jab at Nickelback. 

In the video, Zuckerberg, who plays himself, has Jarvis, who's voiced by Morgan Freeman, assist him with all kinds of tasks. Jarvis can tell Zuckerberg how many appointments he has and fetch him a clean T-shirt, but when Zuckerberg asks him to "Play us some good Nickelback songs," his creation fails him. 

"I'm sorry, Mark, I'm afraid I can't do that," says Jarvis. "There are no good Nickelback songs."

Zuckerberg acts relieved and says that was only a test. Jarvis proceeds to play "Itsy Bitsy Spider" because the Facebook founder wants a song he and his whole family will love — the punchline here being that Zuckerberg is a dad now.

But the Nickelback joke isn't one that singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne finds funny. Lavigne took to Twitter on Thursday to post a note about it. The singer, who announced her separation from Nickelback's lead singer, Chad Kroeger in September 2015, called out Zuckerberg for being a bully and pointed out that the band has sold millions of albums.
