Pamela Ramsey Taylor, who called Michelle Obama "ape in heels," is out of a job — again

Impact

Pamela Ramsey Taylor has been fired from her position as director of nonprofit agency Clay County Development Corp in West Virginia, Reuters reported Tuesday.

"Following the state's request for specific assurances that the CCDC is following anti-discrimination policies, we have been assured that Pamela Taylor has been removed from her position as CCDC director," the office of Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said in a statement.

Taylor had been removed from her job in November after writing a racist Facebook post and referring to first lady Michelle Obama as an "ape in heels," but was reportedly reinstated in early December. The Facebook post has since been deleted, but screenshots of Taylor's comments continue to float around social media.

"It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified first lady back in the White House," the post read, according to local news station WSAZ 3. "I'm tired of seeing an ape in heels."

Beverly Whaling, mayor of Clay, West Virginia, reportedly commented on the original Facebook post and claimed Taylor's comments made her day. Whaling later resigned after coming under fire for her remarks.
