Lindsay Lohan Endorses Mitt Romney Because He Will Cut Her Taxes

Culture

Lindsay Lohan, a celebrity who always stirs up entertainment reporters with weekly arrests or hit-and-run reports, is now getting herself involved in the story of the year: the 2012 presidential election.

"I think unemployment is very important for now, so as of now I think (my vote) is Mitt Romney," Lohan said to reporters at an event on Thursday night.

What Lohan might not realize is that the unemployment rate in our country has dipped below 8 % to 7.8% and weekly unemployment claims have 'tumbled' to 339,000 the least amount in four and a half years.

But, that doesn't matter. What does matter is if Lohan's endorsement of the Republican candidate for president actually means something.

Lindsay Lohan is wealthy. At least, she lives the lifestyle of a wealthy person. She stays at fancy hotels, drives luxury vehicles, employs several people and parties every night. The girl can get thousands of dollars from one tweet. And she thinks people who make a lot of money should get tax cuts.

Here's what the actress tweeted just one month ago:

"@barackobama we also need to cut them for those that are listed on Forbes as "millionaires" if they are not, you must consider that as well" (09/06/2012)

The tweet was in response to a tweet from the president's account, quoting him as saying “I’ve cut taxes for those who need it: middle-class families, small businesses.”

Now, Lindsay has endorsed Mitt Romney. An irresponsible starlet who lives lavishly has endorsed Mitt Romney. One might ask, who cares?

Generally, no one does. This endorsement means absolutely nothing to the American public.

People are tired of the campaigns, and I'm sure they've been tired of hearing about Lohan for quite some time. Americans will turn the page, change the channel or scroll down on the web page after seeing a headline incorporating the two overexposed topics.

It's doubtful that a single undecided voter has even been slightly impacted by this endorsement.
