The Walking Dead Season 3 Premiere: Spoilers for Episode 1, The Seed

Culture

The 2012 zombie apocalypse obsession continues Sunday night with the season 3 premiere of AMC's hit show The Walking Dead. The series follows a group of survivors in a post-apocaplyptic world as they spend their days either running from zombies, or killing them. The show has been a surprise hit with women, who have tuned in for the last two seasons, possibly in part to it's uber-dramatic story arcs.

Spoiler alert. The season's first season will not disappoint in the drama department. "Seed," as episode one is called, revolves around Rick and the gang trying to secure a maximum security prison as their home. Rick has taken a dark turn, with his number one concern now being safety; bye bye morals. With a baby on the way, he and his wife turn safety into concern number one.

The humans on the series, also have a new enemey and unexpected enemy this season. He is not a walker, but rather, one of their own. This new enemy is called "The Governor," and he runs what seems to be a paradise for the living. If we know Walking Dead though, nothing is what it seems.

Fans can also gear up for the highly-anticipated reunion of brothers Merle and Daryl. Spoilers are saying that Daryl is no longer just a dream, but actually real human flesh and blood.

As season 3 returns, the humans are a little less of their former selves. Survival reigns, and the plot-lines thicken.

The Walking Dead premieres Sunday October 14 at 9 pm on AMC.
