When and where

The nominees will be announced live at 8:18 a.m. Eastern on Jan. 24. People reports that the nominees will be revealed during the Academy's first-ever nominations livestream this year. Previously, the nominees were unveiled at a press conference. Brie Larson, Jennifer Hudson and Ken Watanabe are among the actors who will appear during the event.

The main sources for the livestream will be Oscar.com, Oscars.org and the Academy's digital platforms, but those aren't the only places you can watch it.
