What 2017 Oscar-nominated movies are still in theaters? Watch these films before the Academy Awards.

Culture

There is still time to catch some Oscar-nominated movies in theaters. The 89th Academy Awards don't air until Sunday, Feb. 26, which means moviegoers have a couple more weeks to watch some of the most talked about films of 2016.

Approximately seven films that received Oscar noms are still playing in theaters. But that doesn't mean that they will be available in every location. Some movies have been out for weeks and are only playing in select markets with limited schedules. Check your local theater for a full list of what is still screening and when.

Hidden Figures

Hidden Figures is nominated for best picture, best adapted screenplay and best actress in a supporting role (Octavia Spencer). The movie was released in select theaters on Christmas Day and had a wide release on Jan. 6.

La La Land

La La Land racked up an impressive 14 Oscar nominations, something that only two other movies have ever been able to do. The film, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, was first released in limited theaters on Dec. 9, with a wide release on Dec. 16.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is not a big Oscar contender this year, but it's still up for two awards — sound mixing and visual effects. The film was released on Dec. 6 and recently passed $1 billion globally at the box office. If you haven't seen it yet, now is the time to do so.

20th Century Women

Despite getting nominated for best picture — musical or comedy at the Golden Globes, 20th Century Women missed out on a best picture nod from the Academy. The film is still up for one Oscar: best original screenplay. The film was released Dec. 28 and has limited screenings.

Silence

Director Martin Scorsese put 25 years into Silence, but unfortunately that didn't land him a nod for best picture or director. The film, which was released on Dec. 23, is nominated for cinematography.

Manchester by the Sea

Manchester by the Sea is a contender for best picture, as well as actor in a leading role (Casey Affleck), actor in a supporting role (Lucas Hedges), actress in a supporting role (Michelle Williams), directing and original screenplay. The film was released Nov. 18, and is only still playing in a few theaters.

Passengers

Passengers landed two Oscar nods for production design and original score. The movie hit theaters on Dec. 21 and has limited screenings.

Of course, there are plenty of other movies nominated for an Oscar this year. Some films that are not still in theaters are available to stream on Netflix, Amazon and on iTunes. You can check out the list of Oscar-nominated movies available for streaming here.
