Everything we know about TLC's self-titled new album

Culture

It's official: TLC are making their big comeback this year.

On Friday, the band revealed the title of their new album on Twitter. What's it called? Well, it's straightforward, and it's self-titled. Yes, the new album from the legendary R&B group will be titled TLC.

The album has been a team effort between the band and their fans. TLC was put together after the band crowdfunded money and raised a remarkable $430,255 to produce the release.

So where did the title come from? Since TLC fans were really looking forward to new material from surviving members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, the band asked their supporters to help name the album.

Release date

TLC is a major moment for the band as it is their first non-greatest hits album since 2002's 3D, which was released following the death of Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes. TLC is set to drop on June 30.

First single

The band dropped a new song featuring Snoop Dogg in April called "Way Back," and it sounds like old-school TLC in the best way possible.
