Why did Frank Ocean cancel his Sasquatch Music Festival set?

Culture

Frank Ocean just cancelled one of his first live appearances in three years.

Ocean sent fans into a tizzy in late 2016 when he announced performance dates at the May 19 Hangout Music Festival and May 26 Sasquatch Music Festival — his first since 2014. However, he has now dropped out of Sasquatch over "production delays beyond his control." A tweet from Sasquatch Music Festival broke the news that LCD Soundsystem would be headlining day one instead.

Ocean's set at Hangout Music Festival still appears to be on, and a representative of WayHome Festival confirmed to Pitchfork that Ocean is still slated to appear at their event in July.

This isn't the first performance that Ocean has ducked out of. In 2013, he dropped out of OVO Fest's first day due to a vocal chord tear, and Kanye West replaced him as headliner of the 2015 FYF Festival after he dropped out at the last minute.
