Deadline reported that "about half" of the show's core eight actors would be able to return for a season three, but Netflix has yet to renew contracts for the entire regular cast of 15. However, the show's continuing popularity and Netflix's obvious efforts to secure its core cast are both indicative of a potential third season.
Although news of a renewal might arrive as early as June, Sense8 co-creators Lana Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski will still have to carve out time for the show's lengthy production process, which, at least for the first two seasons, involved filming in multiple locations on four different continents. This intense filming schedule was reportedly the reason for the nearly two-year gap between season one and season two, and viewers can probably expect a similar gap before season three. Despite all this, our biggest question is: When can we see Sun and Mun hook up?
