These fake 'Drag Race' elimination memes read everyone from Hermione Granger to the Babadook

Culture

Any avid RuPaul's Drag Race watcher knows that RuPaul's eliminations are often powdered with some truly original, albeit off-kilter, puns.

Some of the most memorable include season four's "Kenya, impersonating Beyoncé is not your Destiny, child," and season six's "Magnolia Crawford: Your bovine design was not divine. Where's the beef?" And of course, my personal favorite: "Sarena ChaCha, your couture was coutorture."

Now, one self-described "pop culture and meme addict" is giving some of your favorite fictional characters — from Romy and Michele to Winifred Sanderson — the Ru-pun treatment.

It all started, as it is wont to do, with the Babadook, the fictional monster from the 2014 psychological horror film of the same name.

"I was on Tumblr just perusing and I saw a picture of the Babadook and me being the weirdo that I am, decided to judge him on Drag Race in my own head," creator Mikey Pop explained in an interview. "Then it just snowballed from there."

Shortly thereafter, Pop created another meme, this time using Sex and the City's Miranda Hobbes.

"I used that new app everyone's obsessed with, FaceApp, that turns people into the opposite gender, and when I used Cynthia Nixon's photo (cause I was just putting random celebrities in) it made her look crazy," Pop said.

That's when the idea to turn the elimination memes into a whole series first began. "People responded so strongly to it, I thought it would be funny to pretend RuPaul was judging her too," he explained. Then people started commenting "Do more! Do more!" so then I just started judging every iconic pop culture character that I personally love, and people seemed to be into it."

And thus birthed the first batch of memes.

Romy and Michele's High School Reunion's Romy and Michele

Demi Lovato's fan-fictional sister, Poot Lovato

Hocus Pocus' Winifred Sanderson

And Rita Ora

In total, Pop has thus far produced 25 memes.

"I just choose people that I've always personally loved or [have] been obsessed with," he explained. "Iconic characters from movies or celebrities I find interesting and crazy. I also think sometimes the more obscure persona is funnier than an obvious choice."

For example...

E.T.

Jan Brady from The Brady Bunch Movie

Nancy Downs from The Craft

Valerie Cherish from HBO's The Comeback

Nomi Malone from Showgirls

Phyllis Nefler from Troop Beverly Hills

And, most recently, Hermione Granger, of Harry Potter fame

As for who's next?

"I don't have too many pre-planned but I know some that, for me, will be inevitable, like Mrs. White from Clue, Madeline and Helen from Death Becomes Her, The Spice Girls, Emily from The Devil Wears Prada, random Real Housewives and maybe some obscure pop stars like Samantha Mumba and Hoku."
