Michael Bay's Transformers series continues with the latest sequel, Transformers: The Last Knight.

There is a war going on between the humans and the Transformers, and Optimus Prime is no longer there to make peace. But there is a key to saving the world: Travel to the past to find out how the Transformers began.

The movies haven't always been loved by the critics. While the first Transformers movie earned decent reviews, the sequels that followed — Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Transformers: Age of Extinction — received terrible critical reviews.

If nothing else, the franchise is at least consistent because Transformers: The Last Knight is also receiving awful reviews. It's so bad, critics can't even attempting to say anything redeeming about it.

For instance, Oliver Jones of the New York Observer couldn't even bother trying to explain the plot.

"I am not going to try to explain the story — after watching this movie I may never try to explain another story ever again."

Cary Darling of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram dragged the sequel through the mud and then back again.

"A movie that is at once loud yet incoherent, complex yet idiotic, and expensive yet worthless."

Tom Glasson of Concrete Playground was kind enough to share this spoiler of one an amazing line of dialogue from Sir Anthony Hopkins.

"What a bitchin' car she is!"

For those who are going to see it regardless of the reviews this weekend, Brian Tallerico of Roger Ebert has a tip.

"So much incoherent noise that you'll want to bang your head on the seat in front of you just to get some rest."

Angie Han from Mashable can't believe the movie is real. She is also not sure it actually happened because it felt like a dream.

"I can't remember the last time I felt so little while watching a movie. I wasn't even bored, so much as just dazed, like I'd woken up in someone else's dream."

Mike Ryan from Uproxx compared the movie to a kaleidoscope.

"It's like staring at a projected kaleidoscope for two and a half hours and then trying to tell someone about the plot."

What offended Joshua Starnes of Coming Soon most is that the movie is boring.

Michael Bay's 'Transformer' films have been many things: loud; obnoxious; loud; silly; overtly racist; nonsensical; loud; annoying; unfunny; and loud. But for all their many, many, many, many problems, they have at least never been boring. At least not until now.

And, lastly, Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune summed it up best.

Of course it's not good.
