What Time Do Polls Close: Complete Polling Place Guide in Every State
Election Day is finally here and every single vote counts. Even if you were considering not voting (really? in this close of an election?), we’re sure that by now, the fervor and excitement has gotten you riled up and ready to vote, too. That’s where PolicyMic has you covered. For all of you last-minute-voters, independents who still can’t pick, and just general procrastinators, we’ve compiled an alphabetical list of closing times for polls in all the states so that you know what time you need to get there:
Alabama: 7 and 8 p.m. EST
Alaska:11 p.m and 12 and 1 a.m. EST (Nov. 7)
Arizona: 9 p.m. EST
Arkansas: 8:30 p.m. EST
California: 11 p.m. EST
Colorado: 9 p.m. EST
Connecticut : 8 p.m. EST
Delaware: 8 p.m. EST
D.C.: 8 p.m. EST
Florida: 7 and 8 p.m. EST
Georgia: 7 p.m. EST
Hawaii: 11 p.m. EST
Idaho: 10 and 11 p.m. EST

While these are closing times, that only means that polling locations will stop allowing people to enter the line (and from experience, I know even that rule is flexible). So if you get there close to closing time and you see a long line, don’t worry, you’ll still get your chance to make a difference, no matter what the time.
First results are expected to come out around closing for each state or, in the case of multiple closing times, closer to the earliest one.
