Tonight at 10:00 p.m. (ET), the 2013 Grammy Awards' nominees were announced during the CBS prime time special "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!" hosted by L.L. Cool J and Taylor Swift from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee (the first time the nominees are announced outside of Los Angeles, California).

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Mumford & Sons and Frank Ocean were expected to take a share of the nominations while Gotye and hostess Taylor Swift were also expected to get the nod.

Two potential wild cards Korean Pop sensation PSY, whose wildly viral YouTube hit "Gangnam Style" has racked up over a billion views; and Canadian pop star Carly Rae-Jepsen who also shook up the social networks with her ubiquitous song "Call Me Maybe" were largely overlooked.

Frank Ocean, the soul and R&B singer who stepped into controversy earlier in the year by coming out as bisexual, was also be one of nights nominated acts, as — according to the San Jose Mercury News — his album channel ORANGE caused "an industry-wide discussion" of the issue [of sexual orientation]."
