Perry v. Romney Showdown

Here's a quick recap of last night's Las Vegas GOP debate:

Political pundit reactions to last night's GOP debate surprisingly didn't focus on top candidates like Herman Cain or Rick Perry.

For former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, bottom-dwelling candidate Newt Gingrich won the debate and would "clobber Barack Obama in any debate, any forum that had to do with substance when it comes to policy and solutions for the challenges that America faces."

CNN analyst David Gergen thought that President Obama himself was among the winners of the debate. Romney, he said, was the most presidential of those who attended: "I felt that Mitt Romney acquitted himself very well as he was assaulted from right and left, and [he] clearly does not like Rick Perry no love lost between those two I thought. But I thought overall, again, [Romney] appeared the most presidential, but there was another winner tonight. I can tell you that the Obama team looking at this tonight would be celebrating."
