American Country Awards 2012 Full List of Nominees: Luke Bryan Leads the Pack

Culture

In the grand scheme of things, the American Country Awards are brand spankin' new. The ceremony is only three years old and lauds itself as "the show for the next generation of country music fans." The awards show also sets itself apart by allowing fans to vote for the winners, and by introducing categories that aren't honored by traditional award shows; for example, touring.

The pack of 2012 nominees is led by Luke Bryan and his platinum-selling album Tailgates & Tanlines for which he's received seven nominations. Bryan is closely trailed by Eric Church, Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band who all have six nominations.

The coveted category of Artist of the Year includes nominees Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, and Taylor Swift. Aldean won last year's award in this category.

Winners in all 21 categories will be announced live on Fox on the 8 p.m. broadcast. Hosting the ceremony will be Trace Adkins (who has hosted all three of the annual awards) and Krisin Chenoweth.
