On the heels of the hotly anticipated Man of Steel trailer, Warner Brothers has hit the ground running with another mega Blockbuster preview, this time for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. The 2013 thriller makes it known that the apocalypse won't be as predicted on December 21, 2012, it will be coming to a movie theater near you in the summer of 2013.

The Pacific Rim end of days will not be caused by a rogue asteroid, or pesky aliens, or creatures from the underwold, this time the apocalypse will come from giant sea creatures (called "kaiju" Japanese for "strange beast") that lurk in the deep. "From a portal between dimensions, in the Pacific Ocean," if we're being specific. Have no fear though, the human beings are rising to the challenge and defending the race.

The only way to beat these kaiju is through massive human-controlled robots. As the trailer says, "to fight monsters, we created monsters." If that wasn't inspiration enough, let's end the trailer with a memorable and quotable line, "today we are canceling the apocalypse!"

Pacific Rim hits theaters July 12, 2013.
