He offers up NRA training programs to help train armed guards, to be dispatched to every school in the nation.
As expected, the NRA’s idea of entering the conversation had nothing to do with keeping guns out of the hands of crazy people who want to murder little children, but with getting guns into the hands of more people.
“If we truly cherish our kids more than our money,” he says, “more than our celebrities, more than our sports stadiums, we much give them the best level of security as possible.”
He offers to develop a defense program for schools, to be offered free of charge, and emphasizes immediate action. He calls for a national school shield safety program, including what he calls “the only positive line of defense that’s tested and proven to work.”
