Fights Break Out in China Over Censored Editorial

In the Southern China province of Guangzhou, scuffles broke out between free-speech protestors and Communist party supporters on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, supporters of the local paper "jeered and skirmished with a small band of leftists holding posters of Chairman Mao Zedong and signs denouncing the Southern Weekly as 'a traitor newspaper' for defying the [Communist] party."

The Southern Weekly was set to publish an editorial around New Years demanding constitutional government, which was allegedly replaced by an editorial praising the Community Part by government censors.
