"This award is for every woman who felt there wasn't a space for her. This show has made a space for me. Thanks!"
Although I wish she were wearing a better dress (at least one that she looked a bit more comfortable in) I was very happy to see this young woman who is bucking one feminine stereotype after another.
I know a lot of people (including me, occasionally) have a hard time with her bitching when she was (and still is) given every advantage, it doesn't diminish the fact that being a GIRL in this world is still a hell of a lot of hard work. Harder then most men can even imagine.
So here's to Lena, for being nude when she is ridiculously out of shape, and making it not just funny, but poignant and real; for being full of neuroses when most young women are being told they should never admit they have a problem or it will make them look "weak"; and for hanging with old friends and hiring them for work, instead of jumping at the first opportunity to hire "stars."
BTW: Tiny Fey managed to take a good shot at her thanking her "for getting her through middle school." She got up onstage with a drink and said, "Middle School??"
