#WeCalledIt. President Obama's busy inauguration ceremony crashed Twitter momentarily on Monday leaving millions of tweeps in the dark as they frantically sent and received text, pictures and videos of the president's second inauguration.

According to The San Jose Mercury News, the San Francisco microblogging site announced on Monday that users were "experiencing issues accessing the company's site, and that its engineers were working on the issues." However, the problems were described as "intermittent," with users able to tweet one minute but unable to reply the next.

Twitter claims to have processed 1.1 million views during the inauguration, a staggering number compared to the 82,392 tweets sent during the 2009 inauguration.
