UPDATE: President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama danced to Jennifer Hudson's version of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" on Monday evening at The Commander in Chief's Inaugural Ball.  The first lady wore a gown by Jason Wu.

We're almost there.

After a busy inauguration weekend that included an awesome Kids Inauguration Concert, a Hip Hop ball, and even a controversial anti-Obama performance by Lupe Fiasco during the StartUp Rock On inaugural concert, it's time for the much anticipated galas.

The Commander in Chief’s Inaugural Ball, to be held at the Washington Convention Center (halls A, B and C) starting at 6:30 p.m. (EST), will be hosted by President Barack Obama "to honor America's brave service members and their families" (a tradition started by President George W. Bush in 2005). The crowd will be composed of active duty and reserve military, Medal of Honor recipients, and wounded warriors and their spouses (troops from around the world will also join online). The Inaugural Ball will follow the Commander in Chief’s ball.

According to NBC's Today, a variety of musical acts are scheduled to perform at one or both of the events, including Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, fun., John Legend, Soundgarden, Usher, Jennifer Hudson and Marc Anthony. A pair of hip-hop acts — Black Violin and Far East Movement —will also perform along with members of the cast of Fox's Glee.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga will perform at Tuesday's private ball for White House staffers. Jay-Z reportedly performed at the staff ball in 2009.
