The American Football Conference champion, Baltimore Ravens, and the National Football Conference champion San Francisco 49ers will face off on February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, to decide the NFL champion for the 2012 season during Super Bowl XLVII. 

Singer Beyonce, who currently is facing a backlash over having lip-synced the national anthem at President Obama's second inauguration, will headline the Super Bowl halftime show. Alicia Keys, who also performed at the presidential inauguration festivities, will sing the national anthem.

According to IBT, last season's Super Bowl was the highest-rated television show of 2012 — with about 111.3 million viewers.

CBS will broadcast the game in the United States, with Jim Nantz calling play-by-play and Phil Simms providing color commentary and analysis, while CBSSports.com will broadcast via the internet (NFL.com will also broadcast online).
