Adele will perform her Academy Award-nominated theme song from Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond film, at the 85th Academy Awards ceremony — says The Hollywood Reporter

The British singer, who recently won the Golden Globe for the same song, will be part of a James Bond-inspired Academy Awards (with motive of the franchise's 50th anniversary).

And what a better way to celebrate than by performing 'Skyfall' live for the first time ever. According to the Reporter, it will be also Adele's first U.S. performance since last year's Grammy Awards.

"It's an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again," said Adele. "It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once," she added.

"Skyfall" is nominated in the best original song category. Adele and Paul Epworth wrote the song, and it's the first Bond theme ever to debut in Billboard's top 10.

"We have enormous respect for Adele's unique artistry as a songwriter and a singer," said Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the producers of this year's Oscar show. "She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe that her performance of 'Skyfall' will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching at the Dolby Theatre and on television screens around the world," they added.
