New York City Weather: Severe Storm Wednesday Night

Impact

The severe storms rolling across the Southeast today will also affect New York City. Flood watches have been issued in areas in the Northeast including New York, Philadelphia, Albany, and Harrisburg. 

In New York City, a high wind warning will go into affect at 6 p.m. lasting until 6 a.m. Thursday; winds will reach close to 30 mph. 

In the flood warned cities, both flash floods and rising river levels are anticipated. 

The storms are part of a wave of severe storms that began in the southern states on Tuesday night.
