House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) will address the American Enterprise Institute in Washington D.C. on Tuesday at noon in an attempt to rebrand the battered Republican Party by offering "a new conservative vision" in a host of social issues ranging from immigration to education to health care.
Cantor will reportedly introduce his vision, which includes granting more visas for "highly educated workers," eliminating medical-device taxes and simplifying tax filings. His aides concede that all he's doing is "taking policies that have been on the shelf for a while, or back burner, and elevating them." He's not completely abandoning Republicans' core focus on slashing spending.
