Office Hours: Revisiting Bloody Sunday in Ireland

Editor's Note: Today marks the anniversary of Bloody Sunday, a day of violence in Dublin on November 21 1920 during the Irish War of Independence. In total, 31 people were killed. To commemorate that event, we are showcasing a video produced in Northern Ireland by VICE media.

VICE headed to Belfast this past July for the infamous 12th Protestant parade to find out why more than a decade after IRA decommissioned its weapons and peace was declared in Northern Ireland, newspapers were again filled with stories of Catholic and Protestant violence. As they soon discovered, while the war may have ended, the conflict is far from over. VICE explores the deep-rooted tensions between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland in The VICE Guide to Belfast, complete with molotov cocktail-throwing and hateful outbursts against the Pope by five year old children.
