Carrie Underwood Wins Best Country Solo Performance

Culture

Carrie Underwood beat out five contenders for the Best Country Solo Performance Grammy.

The American Idol winner thanked God twice in her acceptance speech, visibily honored by the accolade. Underwood beat "Home" singer Dierks Bentley, "Springsteen" singer Eric Church, Ronnie Dunn for "Cost of Livin'", Hunter Hayes for "Wanted," and Blake Shelton for "Over."

"Blown Away" has also been nominated for Best Country Song, so we'll see whether she snags that as well. Given her poppy style, we're guessing another win in the country category wouldn't make her rivals too happy.
