Gotye Wins Record Of the Year For "Somebody That I Used To Know"

Culture

One of the biggest prizes of the evening went (somewhat unexpectedly) to Gotye for "Somebody That I Used to Know."

In his unbelievably gracios acceptance speech Gotye thanked Prince (who handed him the award). Gotye thanked "all musicians and people who listen to music." (Aww!)

Gotye beat out "Lonely Boy" by The Black Keys, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" by Kelly Clarkson, "We Are Young" by Fun., featuring Janelle Monáe, "Thinkin Bout You" by Frank Ocean, and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift.
