YouTube Taylor Swift Grammys Performance: Swift Calls Out Harry Styles

Culture

On Sunday night, all of music's biggest stars packed into one room for the 55th annual Grammy Awards. Some of the biggest winners of the night were Gote, Fun., and Mumford & Sons, and hands down the weirdest performance came by way of Taylor Swift and her awards show opening number.

Swift sang her hit song, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" allegedly shouting out British ex Harry Styles by delivering the speaking portion of the song in a faux British accent. No, that wasn't the weirdest part of the performance. The weirdest part of the performance was the concept.

The number opened with a man riding a flaming tricycle and things only got weirder from there. There were clowns, a white rabbit, and Swift wore a sky-high top hat.

Check out the performance for yourself here:

The real reason this was all such a big disappointment was because Swift was so phenomenal at the ceremony last year when she performed her song "Mean." It makes you wonder if these new dubstep-esque tracks are straying too far from her true roots.

Have no fear though, Swift did redeem herself by winning Best Song Written For Visual Media for her Hunger Games track "Safe and Sound."

Check out Swift's 2012 performance of "Mean" and remember the wonder that she is capable of. Unfortunately, this year's performance was a bizarre fail.
