SOTU 2013: Obama To Focus On Jobs, Wages And Economy

Impact

CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jessica Yellin reports that the State of the Union address will focus on jobs, wages and the economy. Obama is expected to lay out his latest policies designed to create jobs and improve wages which make a healthier economy. The president is also expected to lay out a roadmap that ensures prosperity can reach more Americans through expanding the middle class.

Obama will highlight a plan for tax reform and for dealing with the federal debt through a balanced approach of cuts and revenues. If he does mention spending cuts in a serious way, it may be the first time he details what cuts he supports rather just saying cuts need to happen.  The president is not expected to give much attention to gun control or challenge the Republicans on immigration.
