Cody Keenan: Meet Obama's New Speech Writer

Cody Keenan, President Barack Obama's new speechwriter, who will take over after Jon Favreau leaves the White House on March 1, to pursue a career as a screenwriter, will have his big test tonight when the president delivers the State of the Union address that he and Keenan have been working on — according to The Atlantic.

According to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, Keenan, who worked with Obama to craft his 2011 Tucson remarks after former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords (R-Ariz.) was shot, and the president have developed a "collaborative process" that will lead to Keenan "taking the lead on the speechwriting team" (a task harder than what it seems as the president has referred to outgoing speech writer Favreau as "my mind reader").
