State of the Union GOP Response

Marco Rubio has been bestowed the honor to give this year's GOP response to President Obama's State of the Union address.  Last year, the "honor" was given to Mitch Daniels who gave a perfectly boring speech as a rebuttal.  You can view Governor Daniels' speech below:

This annual tradition almost never leads to positive results for whomever is bestowed this responsibility.  One does not need to look much further than Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's atrocious response to Obama's first State of the Union address.  His speech can be seen below:

Other times, it can help you out, such as in the case of Representative Paul Ryan in 2011, where he raised his national profile.  His speech can be seen below:

At the end of the day, very little will change.  Rubio does have the distinction of being the first Latino to give the GOP rebuttal speech; however, in a post-Jindal world, Rubio will likely opt for safe rather than boom-or-bust.  His speech should start some time after 10:15 Eastern.
