SOTU 2013: How much will Obama's remarks sway public opinion?

Impact

What should President Obama talk about tonight, and what shouldn't he talk about?

A new poll from The Washington Post suggests people's opinions about policies change when they hear of Obama's policy preferences. While 70% of Americans polled said they would favor immigration reform that provides a path to citizenship, when Obama's name was added to the policy proposed, only 59% of those polled responded favorably.

On other issues key to the Democratic platform, favorability ratings increased with the mention of the president's name.
