State of the Union 2013: Republican Doubt Presidential Leadership

Impact

There is no question that we have a severe partisan gridlock in our nation’s capital. Both sides claim to be making attempts to reach across the aisle and compromise. In some of the strongest language yet, House Speaker John Boehner has made it clear Republicans think that Obama lacks the necessary leadership.

In addition to saying Obama lacks the “guts”; he also says “He doesn’t have the courage to take on the liberal side of his own party. He just doesn’t have the courage to lead when it comes to our long-term spending problem.”  Boehner also thinks the president needs to stay out of the immigration efforts, because he might get in the way.
