Oscars 2013 Winners and Nominees: LIVE Updates From the Academy Awards

Culture

On February 24, all eyes will be on Seth MacFarlane as he hosts the 85th Academy Awards. Hosting this award show can be undoubtedly nerve-wracking but MacFarlane’s main concern is that his voice will hold out in time for the Oscars. His insane 150-hour work week entails providing the grueling voice overs for the three animated shows that he writes and produces: Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show. This is on top of writing witty and creative material for the award show.

In addition to finding out the winners of the highly-anticipated categories such as Best Picture and Best Director, this year’s Academy Awards will feature a tribute to movie musicals of the past decade, as well as featuring a 50 year tribute to James Bond. And for the first time in 36 years, Barbra Streisand will be singing at an Oscar show. It’s an event not to be missed!

Aside from the award show itself, this is the event that moves Hollywood. Just to demonstrate the impact that this award show has on mainstream media, throughout this entire week, talk shows including Live with Kelly and Michael, Jimmy Kimmel, and The View will be devoting this entire week to Oscar show programming.  Not to mention the spas and hair salons that will be packed with award show attendees hoping to be seen.

The Academy Awards starts at 7 p.m. EST

PolicyMic will be providing live coverage of the Academy Awards and will be posting the live stream as soon as it becomes available.
