Who Won Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz

Culture

The first award of the evening, Best Supporting Actor went to Christoph Waltz, who beat out fellow nominees Alan Arkin, Robert De Niro, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Tommy Lee Jones, for his performance as a German bounty hunter in Djano Unchained. His performance also won him this year's Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes.

There are no losers here though; every nominee has won an Oscar in the past. Waltz previously won Best Supporting Actor in 2010 for his role in Inglorious Basterds.
