Life of Pi Wins Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography

 Fantastic. Life of Pi is having a great start so far. 

Life of Pi has scored the Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography.

In the Best Visual Effects category, it has bested The Avengers, Promotheus, Snow White and the Huntsman.

In the Best Cinematography category, it has bested Anna Karenina, Django Unchained, Lincoln, Skyfall.

One thing that I always don't get are the technical differences that lie between the different categories for production, cinema, visual effects.  But Life of Pi I think has been underestimated and sidelined for Argo and Lincoln. It's great to see this movie get the recognition that it deserves.
