Ted Cruz 2016: Texas Senator Might Talk Until Next Presidential Election

Impact

Ted Cruz was elected to the U.S. Senate in November after riding a wave of Tea Party support into office. Cruz is the latest GOP wunderkind and is a darling of conservatives because he's a fresh face in what has become a party of old, stale, white men. For this reason, Cruz is already being discussed as a possible 2016 presidential candidate, and why not? By that time he would have the same amount of experience in the U.S. Senate as Barack Obama did when he was elected president.

Cruz may already be employing his 2016 strategy. If he can keep this filibuster going for another three and half years, there will be no need for him to spend money on campaign advertising, because C-SPAN will still be airing live coverage of the U.S. Senate.

Will Ted Cruz's three and half year-long speech strategy work? More importantly, am I losing my grip on reality while covering this filibuster?
