Mitch McConnell and Pat Toomey Join Filibuster

Impact

There seems to be no end in sight of the filibuster that began at 11:47 AM by Rand Paul. Within the past hour, Paul has yielded for "questions" from Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, John Thune, Mitch McConnell, and John Thune, as the GOP is gang-tackling the nomination the nomination of John Brennan to the post of CIA director.

At this point, this talkfest has ceased being a filibuster, and is now an endurance contest. The White House has said it's through communicating with Paul's office for the night. That could mean a very long night because Paul has said he will keep going until he gets an answer to his question on whether Obama thinks he has the legal authority to kill U.S. citizens on American soil without due process.

The GOP looks like it has the numbers to keep this filibuster going through the morning.
