March Madness Bracket: First Teams Punch Automatic Bids

Culture

Saturday saw three teams punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament: Belmont, Florida Gulf Coast, and Harvard.

There are 31 automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament (30 conference tournaments and the winner of the Ivy League regular season) plus 37 at-large bids. Starting March 8, the conference tournaments start coming to a close, and the NCAA bracket starts to fill up.

Belmont won the Ohio Valley Conference with a thrilling victory over Murray State in overtime.

Florida Gulf Coast beat Mercer 88-75 to earn it's first trip ever to the big dance.

Harvard clinced the Ivy League crown, the only conference that doesn't have a conference tournament.

The three automatic bids earned yesterday will be low level seeds (12 and lower, most likely), did we meet one of this year's Cinderellas?
